Who we serve
ou’re Catholic, you’re an English-speaker, you’re in Wrocław (Poland), and you want to practice your faith.
Problem: you don’t understand the Mass in Polish, and as for confession in Polish – forget about it! What do you do? Where do you go?
You’ve come to the right place: the Pastoral Centre for English-speakers was created in 2007 by a decree of the Archbishop of Wrocław, to meet the needs of English-speaking Catholics living in or visiting this diocese.
What we do
We offer Mass on Sunday and on most of the Polish Holy Days of Obligation. You can have confession before Sunday Mass or at another time by arrangement with the priest.
If you plan to marry in Poland and need your wedding celebrated in English – we can help with that, from advice if you live outside of Wrocław, to marriage preparation and celebrating the wedding Mass in our parish church. If you had a civil wedding, and you want the graces of a sacramental marriage, you can discuss your situation with our priest and he’ll help you figure out what you need to do next.
If you’ve had a baby (congratulations!) and want your child baptized in English, let us know.
If you’re missing sacraments – First Communion, Confirmation – and want to complete them with instruction in English, we can help.
You are welcome!
Maybe you’re not Catholic, but you’re curious and want to find out what we’re all about. Introduce yourself to the priest after Mass and tell him where you are on your faith journey. You’re most welcome.
And if you just want to meet some nice, friendly people who share your faith and who know what it’s like to be a foreigner in Poland, come to our social hours after Mass on the second Sunday of each month during the academic year. We’ll be happy to see you!
